Artist's Description
Wheeler Lake near Huntsville, Alabama, reflects bare trees under a wintry sky. This image began as a photograph taken near Birding Site 24, several miles south of Greenbrier. The Tennessee River, backed up by a TVA dam, spreads up the feeder streams, widening them and giving each a unique photogenic character. Here, the waters form the environment of Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge, a popular site for observing native and migratory waterfowl.

I live in the Southeastern U.S. where woods approach water, clouds top treetops, and hills and mountains lift the morning sun into the day and silhouette the start of night.
